The Find Feature Will Not Display the Correct Label:
If there is a single quote ( ' ) included anywhere in the chemical name
(RTK labels) or equipment ID (Arc Flash labels) name, when you double
click on it the Find feature will not display the label.
For RTK labels, make a note of the CAS number and then use the CAS Number
Find feature to locate the CAS number. You'll then be able to display
the label by double clicking on the CAS number.
The latest update of the Arc Flash software includes a feature that prevents
the use of a single quote in the Equipment ID.
Can Not Save Two Entries Using The Same Chemical
Name (RTK labels) / Equipment ID (Arc Flash labels):
The software is specifically designed to not allow two entries for the
same chemical. This prevents the wrong label from being printed for a
specific chemical. If the same chemical has different levels of hazard
associated with it, possibly due to different concentrations for example,
then the concentration should be included as a part of the chemical name.
The CAS number is used to identify the chemical without regard to concentration
(for example), and duplicate CAS numbers are allowed.
Printer Setup Tip:
The printer includes a utility that will position the labels correctly
based on the location of the gap between labels. However, an easier way
to get the labels correctly positioned is to just print a label. This
first label will not be aligned correctly. However, after printing the
label the DuraLabel will sense the location of the gap and cut the labels
in the correct location. From that point on the labels will be aligned
correctly.
Chemical Database Typo:
We have found a typo in the pictograms for the chemical
Diazomethane. The typo results in the software not being able to print
the label for this chemical. You will get an error message that says that
the software can not find the chkr.wmf file.
In the pictograms the last pictogram is listed as "chkr".
It should be "chkresp". This can be corrected by clicking on
the "EDIT" button, making the correction, and clicking on the
"SAVE" button.
Please note that the CHKRESP pictogram is included
for all chemicals. You should always replace this pictogram with the appropriate
one, as specified on the MSDS and in your facility's safety rules.
